Students in Ms Higginbotham’s class are gaining background knowledge on their upcoming unit with Edgar Allan Poe. Learning new information on the author is helping them make inferences on what their upcoming story may be about .

Mrs. Morris’s class took learning outdoors today to build their very own robot! 🤖🌿 Hands-on creativity and teamwork at its best!

US History takes a look at colonization as they come to an end of the unit to anchor learning and clear up misconceptions during rotating station activities.

Criminal Justice class decided to kick off their first meeting by writing letters to local officers .

🌎✨ Ms. Wheeler’s class is diving into the North American region! Students are sharpening their map reading skills as they explore and identify the different landforms across the U.S. and Canada. 🗺️ From towering mountains to wide plains, they’re discovering just how diverse our continent really is!

What an incredible day! Our Glow Party was a HUGE success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without so many helping hands. A special thank you to our Culinary Arts program for the delicious cupcakes (yes—they even glowed under the black lights! 🌟🧁), and to our Ready, Set, Teach students who stepped up to run games and booths with so much energy and heart.

Events like this give our students a chance to practice teamwork, communication, and independence in a fun and supportive setting. These skills will benefit them far beyond the classroom. 💛 Also, for the students from visiting districts!

We are so proud to be part of a district that always puts students first and comes together to create unforgettable experiences like this one. Pirate Pride was shining bright all day!

✨ Ms. Bowman’s advanced 6th graders put their science skills to the test by creating their own mixtures! They worked together to decide whether their creations were homogenous or heterogeneous—such a fun and hands-on way to learn! 🧪👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

Shepherd Middle School JROTC cadets did an outstanding job presenting the colors at the Shepherd City Council meeting last night.

📖✨ Mrs. Clark’s classes worked together to dive into the exploration of North America by the Spanish, French, and English. Each student became the “expert” on one reading, then rotated between groups to share their knowledge with classmates. A great way to learn from each other! 🌎🤝

🌍 Mrs. Clark’s classes explored geography at their own pace today! Students worked on a variety of activities, including labeling the world map, completing a geography term card sort, and practicing continents and oceans through Wordwall — a fun, game-style program. 🗺️✨

✨ Mrs. Clark’s classes have been busy preparing for their next unit! Students worked together to create anchor charts over key vocabulary words to help guide their learning. 📚📝

🌍✨ This week Ms. Wheeler’s class has been busy exploring the world by learning the names of the continents and oceans! 🌊🌎

🚨 Today the challenge was ON as students put their knowledge to the test in an “Amazing Race” 🏁✈️ Divided into teams, they raced to see who could label ALL the continents and oceans from memory—no maps allowed! 🧠💪
