Students in Ms. Wheeler’s class are learning about Asian culture. Today they learned about Chinese New Year and made their very own red envelopes with an affirmation written inside and then given to a random classmate!

SMS students explored the art of Michelangelo and his contributions to the Italian Renaissance! They also learned about the term “bust”—a sculpture of a person from the chest up—and put their creativity to the test by sculpting their own busts of a person or animated character of their choice. For Throwback Thursday Ms. Wheeler's students reviewed all the content they have learned so far this year by playing an educational game inspired by Among Us on Gimkit.
Students played jeopardy for Throwback Thursday where they looked at common STAAR questions with author’s purpose, inferencing, word meaning, and many more.

Throwback Thursday is always a good idea. Adv History students play “Telephone” to stay current on their concepts of industrialization. It’s a race against time as the last person must “telephone” the answer through each student in front of them before they can write it down on the white board. Lots of laughs and learning!
